About Bech Bruun
Bech Bruun is conservative Republican who is running for Congress in District 27, a congressional district that stretches from Nueces County in the south to Wharton and Bastrop counties in the north.
A native of Corpus Christi, Bech is the former chairman of the Texas Water Development Board, and has worked in the administrations of both Gov. Greg Abbott and Gov. Rick Perry. He also served as chief of staff for State Rep. Todd Hunter, R-Corpus Christi and as the general counsel for the House Committee on Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence.
As chair of the Water Development Board, Bech led the state agency that provides water planning, data collection and financial assistance services to the citizens of Texas. He also served as a gubernatorial appointee on the Environmental Flows Advisory Group, Western States Water Council and as an ex-officio member of Texas Farm and Ranch Lands Conservation.
A lifelong Republican, Bech served as Executive Director of Texas Victory 2008 and oversaw a $3.5 million budget for the Get-Out-The Vote project under the direction of current U.S. Rep. Roger Williams.
He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin and a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
Bech and his wife, Glenna, are the parents of three children, Cilla Kay, Radford and Anne Charlotte.
